1.
What is the application fee? top
All applications require an application fee of $30 for Undergraduate and $50 for Graduate or Education Specialist applicants. This fee is non-refundable regardless of whether the student enrolls in classes.

2.
What is the difference between conditional and unconditional admission? top
Students may be admitted unconditionally to Troy University if they meet all admission requirements as listed in the current University catalog.

Students not eligible for unconditional admission may be conditionally admitted by meeting the following criteria:

Undergraduate Freshmen: If the high school GPA is less than 2.00 (on a 4.00 scale), the applicant must have a minimum composite score of 18 on the ACT or 870 on the SAT-1. If the applicant's composite score on the ACT is less than 18 (but at least 15) or less than 870 on the SAT-1 (but at least 740) the cumulative high school GPA must be 2.30.

Transfer students: If the applicant has attempted at least 24 credit hours of coursework, excluding developmental courses, at other colleges or universities and their transfer cumulative GPA of 1.70 - 1.99. Transfer students admitted under conditional status are limited to a maximum of 13 hours per semester until 24 semester hours are attempted.

Graduate Students that have earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university, but lack the required grade point average of 2.5 on the graduating transcript and/or acceptable test score may be conditionally admitted for nine semester hours. Students must earn a 3.0 after nine semester hours or they will be dropped from program for one year after which they may petition for readmission.

Education Specialist All Education Specialist applicants must be admitted to the University unconditionally. No conditional admission is allowed.

3.
What does it mean if I am temporarily admitted? top
Students lacking all required admission documents may be admitted temporarily for one semester for up to nine semester hours.

4.
How long may I be out of school before I am required to complete a new application? top
Students are required to complete a readmission form for a one to three year lapse in enrollment and are subject to program requirements from their last program of record. Students not enrolled for more than three years are required to complete a new application and subject to all new program requirements in place at the time of readmission.

5.

How do I determine how my credits from other institutions transfer to Troy University? top
Undergraduate applicants may request an unofficial evaluation of their transfer credits before or at the point of their first registration. An official evaluation of transfer credits will be completed upon receipt of all official transcripts.

Graduate students may transfer six hours of appropriate credit from a completed graduate degree. Twelve hours of graduate credit may be transferred from an uncompleted degree.
