SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Troy University – Phenix City Campus
The Phenix City Campus offers a limited number of scholarships for currently enrolled, transfer and new students. Listed below are the individual scholarships, requirements and how to apply. All scholarship awarded can only be used for classes taken at the Phenix City Campus.

How to apply for scholarships at the Phenix City Campus:
Student must have applied and been accepted unconditionally for Admissions at the Phenix City Campus prior to applying for a scholarship. The applicant needs to:

1. Be a Phenix City Campus student
2. Submit a scholarship application - Print Application Form
3. Submit a resume including job history and education
4. Submit a letter of recommendation
5. Submit any other forms that apply to the

Other scholarships based on need or academic performance are offered as approved by the Scholarship Committee. This includes scholarships based on recommendations from principals, college presidents and one-course department scholarships.

Interested students are also encouraged to contact their local advisor, or the Director of Enrollment, Hollie Farmer at hfarmer@troy.edu or 334.448.5175 for more information.

There are several scholarships offered each year through business and social organizations. These scholarships are usually advertised in the local newspapers or professional bulletins.

Presidential Scholarship

Eligibility: Current year CVCC or Southern Union students
Requirements: Written recommendation letter from college president and 3.0 grade point average
Awarded: During the Spring Semester
# Awarded: 10 per academic year
Value: Covers tuition and fees for all classes taken at the Phenix City Campus until completion of degree or up to 3 years

Stipulations:
1. Recipient must remain in school on a continuous basis
2. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 grade point average
3. Recipient must register for at least 6 hours per semester
4. Recipient is allowed one change of major

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Eligibility: Phi Theta Kappa member, undergraduate student
Requirements: Written recommendation from Phi Theta Kappa advisor or college president and 3.0 grade point average
Awarded: During the Spring Semester
# Awarded: Two per year
Value: Covers tuition and fees for all classes taken at the Phenix City Campus until completion of degree or up to 3 years
Apply to: Director of Enrollment or the community college financial aid office


Corporate Scholarship

Eligibility: Undergraduate or graduate student working at a business or corporation in the community
Requirements: 3.0 GPA, a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or former supervisor and current resume

#Awarded: As approved by the Troy Phenix City Scholarship Committee
Value: One course scholarship
Apply to: Director of Enrollment

Educational Service Scholarship

Eligibility: Student majoring in Elementary Education or Alt-A
Requirements: 3.0 GPA and provide after school enrichment activities at the designated community partner site
Deadline to apply:
2 weeks before the semester begins
#Awarded: As requested by Teacher Education Program
Value: $1,000 for Fall/Spring Semester $500 for Summer Semester

Student Worker Scholarship

Eligibility: Graduate or Undergraduate student assisting the Phenix City Campus faculty member
Requirements: Recommendation of faculty member or department chair and approval of the Phenix City Campus Scholarship Committee
Awarded: As needed
# Awarded: As approved by the Troy Phenix City Scholarship Committee
Value: As approved by the Phenix City Campus Scholarship Committee
Apply to: Department Chair, Faculty member or Director of Enrollment


Trojan Pride scholarship

Eligibility: Graduate or Undergraduate student
Requirements: 3.25 grade point average and a written essay
Awarded: Fall Semester, Deadline to apply is June 15, 2008
# Awarded: 5 per year
Value: $300
Apply to: Director of Enrollment

Heritage Scholarship

Eligibility: Undergraduate student, must be a dependent of an alumni and not be receiving another scholarship or tuition assistance
Requirements: 3.0 grade point average
Awarded: March 1st of every year; apply early due to limited funds
Value: 10% reduction in tuition

The Taylor Girl Scholarship

Eligibility: Graduate student majoring in Education and should be currently teaching, working full-time and supporting a family.
Requirements: 3.25 grade point average, a short essay on why the applicant is deserving of the scholarship
Awarded: Fall Semester; Deadline to apply is June 15, 2008
# Awarded: one per year
Value: $500 a semester

Kennon Parker Duncan and Key Scholarship

Eligibility: New or current student in the Graduate Elementary Education Program
Requirements: Must reside in Muscogee, Harris, Talbot, Russell or Lee County
Awarded: Fall, Spring and Summer semesters
#Awarded: one per semester
Value: $2,200

Tom and Erma Parker Scholarship

Eligibility: Graduate nursing student, self supporting resident of Lee County
Requirements: 3.0 grade point average and a written essay
Awarded: Fall Semester, Deadline to apply is June 15, 2008
# Awarded: 2 a year
Value: $2,100 a semester

The following scholarships are not awarded by Troy University. All have a separate application process.

Scholarship for Professional Women

Eligibility: Women entering their junior or senior year of a baccalaureate program or a graduate program
Deadline for applications: April 15th of each year.
Value: $1,000.00

Women's Opportunity Program-Soroptimist International of Columbus

Eligibility: Women who are head of a household, provides the primary support, and demonstrates the financial help to improve her education and job skills
Deadline for applications: December 10, 2008

Gamma Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Scholarship

Scholarship to be offered to African-American College Students, Sophomores and beyond in the Chattahoochee Valley Area. This is a one-time scholarship award that is based on academic achievement and/or financial need.

Angelfire Scholarship – Honoring soldiers who have served during combat, the Angelfire scholarship is for outstanding students currently attending Troy University who served in the Vietnam War, their spouses and children, or refugees. Scholarships are also available for soldiers who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
